Welcome to the Homeschooler's Curriculum Swap subscribers list, and thanks for supporting the Swap community! Many people depend on the Swap for curriculum and supportive friendships, and we want to keep the Swap a wonderful place to be. To do that, we do have some rules we need you to be aware of regarding the posting of ads, and ask you to follow them out of fairness to everyone here.

Please remember that the Swap ads are a totally different system from the Swap forums. Your Swap ads username and password won't work for the forums, unless you choose to register with them on the forums' registration screen (after you click the "register" button on the login screen).

Please note that all ads regardless of content, are automatically deleted by the system after *90 days*. Please save copies of your ads in a word processor program for easy listing of unsold items.

When a buyer contacts you regarding your ad, you will receive a system-generated email from the Swap. Just reply to that email and the buyer's email address will be in your form.

Ads are restricted to one item each. An item can be a teacher's edition and student text and affiliated materials for a particular grade level and subject, e.g. Artes Latinae Level 1 teacher's edition, student text, tapes, and workbook.

Books from different publishers cannot count as an item, so something like "BJUP French I and ABeka French I" would not be considered an item, even though they are the same subject. However, several Landmark books could be listed together and count as one item.

Please do not use excessive decorative characters, such as ######## or ******* or ~~~~~~~~ or __________ , and avoid excessively long descriptions of the item you are selling. We've had many people tell us that they just skip long ads.

Inclusion of some phrase similar to "email for a list of more books" will be cause for deleting your ad. You will receive a warning. A further offense of this nature will result in the suspension of your access. The reason for this is that it is a violation of the one item per ad rule, and puts you into the category of a dealer.

Please allow us to remind you that selling photocopies is unethical. Of course, you may include photocopies for free, but you may not charge for them beyond the cost of copying, and then only with the full knowledge and consent of the buyer.

Please also remember that you may not advertise for a friend, or act as an intermediary between a friend and a Swap seller/subscriber. It's unwise to put yourself in the middle, and no friend should ask you to take such a financial risk. Your friend must have an email address and a subscription, to ensure that she/he handles her/his own transactions. Many, many problems have arisen in the past because this simple precaution was not heeded, but it has proven necessary to maintain the degree of integrity necessary to the successful functioning of the Swap.

If you own or start a book or curriculum business, you are not eligible to advertise in the classified ads section of the Swap.

If you have a lot of books to sell, please consider advertising on the Business page. Even if you don't have a website, we've had several folks who have successfully run email list businesses. Contact us and we'll be glad to help you with the simple steps. It's only $24 per quarter, so consider making the small investment now!
